Some aircraft may be equipped with a loadmeter instead of an ammeter. This instrument has a scale that begins with zero on the left and shows the load being placed on the alternator or generator. The load reflects the total amount of current demanded by the aircraft’s electrical components, including the current needed for recharging the battery.
